COMPATIBILITY

This plugin is compatible with all media types, including retina and WebP versions. It has been tested on a wide range of WordPress versions, including the latest version with Gutenberg, as well as on various themes with a large community of users. It also supports WooCommerce. For users with more complex plugins for handling website content, the Pro version may be necessary for optimal compatibility. We are constantly working to increase compatibility with other plugins.

Installation

Upload the plugin to WordPress.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Go to Meow Apps -> Cleaner in the sidebar and check the appropriate options.
Go to Media -> Cleaner.

Highly recommendable plugin that i use for my larger websites in order to maintain their image databases. Its highlly efficient at that. I do recommend you to be careful when using this plugin. However, when used accordingly and with care, it is one of the best in the WordPress plugin directory.

This app, and others by Jordy are doing its job with efficiency. I also like the tremendous documentation: well written and straight to the point. I will now go on for the pro version of media cleaner because I’m lacking some features in the free version as I use a page builder and as I also have sometimes ACF on certain sites.

It’s inevitable that over time your media folder will explode. A huge media folder increases storage costs + makes development more painful. Clean it out every now and again and everyone is happy. This plugin makes that easy, rather than tedious and taking all day. So I like!

Gave it a test whirl, and found 400+ items. I spot checked 4-5 of them before doing anything and all 5 were being used. I messaged in support if this is an error or not. Will update my review if this is a fluke or gets fixed.

Tried the plugin at a quite big website with more than 100000 posts and worked really fine. Used to clean the broken media entries and the media entries not found in content in order to have a better database. Definetely will go with pro version in order to use the filesystem option to remove unused files.
