Description
Shakebug helps website owners, developers, and testers effortlessly report bugs, capture screenshots, record user sessions, and intercept console logs directly from their WordPress websites.
Stop asking your users for steps to reproduce issues. Shakebug automatically attaches all the necessary technical details—like browser info, screen resolution, console errors, and invisible JavaScript crashes—to every bug report, saving you hours of debugging time.
Key Features
- One-Click Bug Reporting: Allow users or QA testers to report bugs directly from the frontend without leaving the site.
- Screenshot & Screen Recording: Users can easily capture or record their screen to visually demonstrate the issue.
- Automatic Crash Reporting: Silently catch unhandled JavaScript errors and promise rejections before your users even notice them.
- User Session Tracking: Automatically track the steps a user took leading up to a bug to reproduce issues instantly.
- Dynamic Event Tracking: Log specific clicks and interactions without writing a single line of custom code.
- Privacy & GDPR Friendly: Full control over what is recorded to ensure user data privacy.
External Services
This plugin relies on the external Shakebug service (https://shakebug.com) to provide bug tracking, crash reporting, and user session recording functionalities.
- What it is used for: The service collects bug reports submitted by users, automatically tracks unhandled JavaScript errors, and records user sessions (if enabled) to help you debug and improve your website.
- What data is sent and when: When the frontend tracking is enabled and a user interacts with the bug reporting widget or when an automatic crash is intercepted, the plugin sends technical information such as browser details, OS version, screen resolution, console logs, network requests, and optionally user-provided text/email or screen recordings to the Shakebug API. This data is securely stored on Shakebug servers and displayed in your dashboard.
- Terms of Service & Privacy Policy: For more details on how data is handled, please review the Shakebug Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
